The Office on Youth works with Greater Augusta Prevention Partners (GAPP) to coordinate community-wide substance abuse prevention efforts throughout our community.  GAPP works to support community efforts to provide youth with resources to help them make positive decisions for their lives.

GAPP’s mission is “to create and implement intentional strategies to prevent youth from involvement in criminal gang activity, drug use, violence and other risky behaviors, to foster a stronger healthier community for our youth.”

GAPP initiatives include:

  • anti-drug media campaigns,
  • educational presentations,
  • assistance with Drug Take Back Days,
  • advocating for anti-drug legislation,
  • supporting high school Student Against Destructive Decision clubs,
  • town Hall meetings
  • data collection and assessment
  • and more…
